Eye Tests
Expert Eye Tests for All Ages and Needs
From routine check-ups to advanced diagnostics, we tailor your eye test to protect your vision for life.
A thorough eye exam goes beyond just checking if you need glasses. At iCare Opticians, our comprehensive eye tests allow us to keep a close watch on your vision and overall eye health. This way, we can make sure problems are caught early when treatment is most effective.
Why Eye Tests Matter?
Reading a good book, outdoor adventures or simply spending time with loved ones becomes more meaningful with clear vision. Optimal eye health is key for your wellbeing.
Many serious eye conditions develop silently, showing no symptoms until you experience vision loss. Early detection is your best protection against sight-threatening diseases.
What To Expect During Your Eye Test
Your 30-minute appointment begins with a personalised consultation covering your vision history, health background, and any concerns. We’ll discuss your lifestyle, work requirements, and visual needs.
The vision assessment includes precise prescription measurements and detailed evaluation of how your eyes work together. We test eye movement, coordination, and focusing ability to ensure your sight remains comfortable and reliable.
Intraocular pressure measurement helps screen for glaucoma (a group of conditions that causes damage to the optic nerve) while thorough examination of your eye’s front and back structures reveals the health of your cornea, lens, and retina. Every aspect of your eye health receives careful attention.
Advanced Eye Testing
If you are looking for deeper insight into your eye health, our 40-minute advanced eye examination includes cutting-edge OCT scanning technology. This detailed analysis provides three-dimensional images of the layers of your retina – the light sensitive part at the back of your eye – revealing changes invisible to standard examination methods.
It can also provide early-warnings of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (which impacts the central vision) and diabetic retinopathy (the development of abnormal blood vessels). These scans also identify retinal thinning and other subtle changes that could affect your sight.
This in-depth scan is particularly important for patients over 40, those with diabetes or high blood pressure, and anyone with a family history of eye disease.
